MindBugs Discovery is an open-source tool supported by NGI Search, part of the European Next Generation Internet initiative. It helps journalists and researchers analyse how disinformation spreads across countries, sources and time. It draws exclusively on fact-checks from verified, credible sources, and its aim is to help users understand disinformation.

Advanced search engine. The search goes beyond keywords, understanding the context of a query to return the most relevant debunked claims, each linked back to the fact-check that disproved it. This means less time searching and more time reporting.
Geographical spread and timeline. Intuitive graphs show how debunked claims spread across different regions and how they evolve over time, turning complex data into a clear view of disinformation trends.
Interactive 3D graph. A dynamic way to navigate through layers of data, uncovering the connections and patterns between statements, entities, sources and countries.
We presented and tested the tool with journalists at the IPI World Congress 2024 in Sarajevo. We also showcased MindBugs Discovery at FrancoTech, where it caught the attention of French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to the conference.
